CNAME improvement

The use of the path /applications/{ID} is OK.

What would make it even better is being able to shorten that to something more meaningful.

For instance, in our case we use the FQDN (CNAME)

Join.TheIOFoundation.org

If we could customize the rest of the URL, you could have

Join.TheIOFoundation.org/AsBusinessDeveloper

Join.TheIOFoundation.org/ToDesignOurBrand

You get the picture.
